A former national champion in wheelchair volleyball and basketball who went on to become a wheelchair marathoner and Paralympian, Richmonds Rick Hansen is perhaps best known for his Man In Motion World Tour, a 26-month journey between 1985 and 1987 during which he circled the world in his wheelchair to raise awareness for spinal cord injury research.
Third annual Saluda River Rally celebrates all things water this weekend
In its first year, the Saluda River Rally made people aware that the Saluda River was an important part of the Anderson County water recreation scene. For year two, the Rally showed just what kind of a hidden gem Anderson County had in the Saluda and what could be done to make it even better. For year three, taking place this Saturday and Sunday at the Dolly Cooper Sports Complex in Powdersville ?
